AnnaRita and I became acquainted through Facebook. Unlike some artisans who are very specific in focus, AnnaRita has a number of artistic passions. I enjoy the breadth of her work, how she is enjoys following a variety of creative paths.
1. Tell us about your art.
I enjoy painting with acrylic paint the most. I paint with water colors, and alcohol ink also. I draw with charcoal, pencil, and colored pencils.
2. How long have you been doing it?
I have been painting for about 8 yrs. now. Enjoyed drawing and painting as a child, and as a teenager in school, but lost interest in it in my adult life, having children and working. But now that I am retired I have a lot more time to paint.
3. How did you get started?
I rediscovered my love of art – painting, drawing, and making jewelry – from Social Media, Pinterest, Etsy, and You Tube.
4. Is it your main gig?
Right now it is my main gig. I have a online store on Etsy shop, and sometimes sell some of my paintings, and other art decor.
5. Do others participate in your creative process?
I am the only one creating my art.
6. What inspires you?
I get inspired by the paintings I see on Social Media, Facebook, Pinterest, Etsy, and am following some artists on You Tube. The Art Sherpa, and Angela Anderson – it’s very easy to learn from their tutorials . I have painted a few of the Art Sherpa’s paintings, and just getting started with Angela Anderson’s.
7. What do you love most in regard to your art?
What I love most is to see the process of painting and crafting a work of art, and seeing the finished product.
My biggest challenge right now is drawing, and painting portraits of both animals and people. I’m working on those skills.
9. Do you have a favorite quote?
I like the expression ” The Sea will set me free.” I grew up on the Jersey Shore on the beach, and now live in Florida. I have always loved the beach, and do a lot of nautical paintings.
10. Do you have a website or social media sites where people can connect with you?
